Arrived in Bangkok (BKK), everything goes rather "automatically". Everything perfectly organized for the needs of the international tourist. Everywhere stands one uniformed employee and leads the arriving masses to the right place.
If many passengers arriving together at the same time and it is getting long cues for the passport inspections, immediately empty standing boxes are activated. The dispatch is very effective.
Immigration
There is a couple of behavior rule to note: Before the immigration desk, you should not exceed “the” line on the floor until it’s your turn. At the Desk hand over that before FILLED OUT immigration card and the passport. One should receive this card actually in the airplane. Get and fill out this card however latest at the airport. This card is fastened then with the visa entrance stamp in the passport. It may not be removed, you will need it, when leaving the country and is taken then off again. There is an insignificant camera to set up photographs of your face (therefore beautifully smile, it is for "big brother"). Without visa, normally you receive a 30 days visa stamp, free of charge. These 30 days are to be kept unconditionally. Do not overstay, covering costs 500 Baht per day. On the airport itself, a day is, permitted (since a lot of airplane leaving after mid night). After two day of overstay, it costs however 1000 Baht.
After the passport inspection, it goes over a long way to the baggage dispatch. All very generously in the newly opened airport "Suvarnabumi". It is by the way a very beautiful high tech airport. Architect was:
Taxi down town:
I the front of the airport building (4th level) you will find to your left of a small cottage where you follow the cue (also very effective) There you mention your hotel or place you want to go. You will receive a ticket (payable to the taxi driver) and he will help you with the luggage.
Take the highway (toll way) and pay the additional small fee. Otherwise you may end up in some traffic jam. To “Banglapoo” (Kaosan Road) it takes about 40 minutes.
Soon the Sky train will have an extension to the airport.
